New Student Login Procedures
Accessing Student Portal, Canvas Learning Management System, and Email Accounts
Upon acceptance to Terra, the Admissions office mailed you a letter containing your username and formula for your password. If you did not receive this letter, please contact the Help Desk in room B301 during Help Desk hours of service, the Student Records office in A200, or the Admissions office in A100.
What are my User Name, Password, and Email Address?
  • Your user name consists of your first initial, last name, and a 3-digit number assigned by Terra State Community College.
  • Example: jsmith001
  • Your default password consists of your initials in upper case, a hyphen, your 4-digit birth year, and the last 2 digits of your SSN.
  • Example: JS-190099
  • Your email address is your user name followed by @terra.edu
  • Example: jsmith001@terra.edu
Once you have successfully logged in, please change this default password to keep your account secure.
Logging in to Your Student Portal on Campus
  • Login to any computer on campus using your username and password.
  • Open Mozilla Firefox, or Chrome, and type my.terra.edu into the browser.
  • Click the “Student Portal” link located in the menu.

  • Note: You will enter your portal with no need to login again.
Logging in to Your Student Portal off Campus
  • Open Mozilla Firefox, or Chrome, and type my.terra.edu into the browser.
  • Click the “Student Portal” link located in the menu.
  • Note: A login screen will appear.
  • Enter username. Your username consists of your first initial, last name, and 3-digit code. Be sure to delete whatever is in the username box and enter your username.
  • Example: jsmith001
  • Enter your password. (Passwords are case sensitive.) Your initial password is a combination of your first and last initials capitalized, a hyphen (-), your 4-digit year of birth, plus the last 2 digits of your Social Security number.
  • Example: JS-190099
  • Click the “OK” button.
  • Note: You will enter your Student Portal.
    After you've successfully logged in to your student portal, you can complete the following tasks online using my.terra.edu
    • Search Course Offerings
    • Register for courses
    • Check your final course grades
    • Check your schedule
    • Check your transcript
    • Accept your Financial Aid
    • Check Student Loan information
Logging in to Your Canvas Learning Management System on Campus
  • Login to any computer on campus using your username and password.
  • Open Mozilla Firefox, or Chrome, and type my.terra.edu into the browser.
  • Click the “Canvas Learning Management System” link located in the menu.
  • Note: A login screen will appear.
  • Enter your username. Your username consists of your first initial, last name, and 3-digit code.
  • Example: jsmith001
  • Enter your Password. (Passwords are case sensitive.) Your initial password is a combination of the first initials of your first and last name capitalized, a hyphen (1), your 4 digit year of birth, plus the last 2 digits of your Social Security number.
  • Example: JS-190099
  • Click the “Log On” button.
  • Note: You will enter your Angel Mycourse Portal.
