The 2011 tax credit statements (1098-T form) have been mailed and the information is available on-line at www.1098-t.com. The 1098-T statements can be viewed or printed from this website. A 1098-T form has not be issued if the amount of free aid is more than the amount of tuition and fees that were charged on the student account.
For example: If the total free aid (Pell grant, scholarships, employer aid, etc) for the tax year 2011 is equal to or greater than the total tuition and fees charged to a student account for the tax year 2011, the student didn't have any out-of-pocket expense therefore a 1098-T statement would not be issued.
This is to remind you that if you can apply for federal student aid for the 2012-2013 school year. Go to www.fafsa.gov, select "Start Here" to log in. You will be given the option to complete a FAFSA Renewal that has much of your application data from last year. If you have not filed taxes, just select will file and use estimated tax information from 2011. You can then use the IRS data retrieval tool after you have filed your taxes to avoid turning in your 2011 tax documents to the Financial Aid Office!
